In an emergency, could you retrieve your cat carrier in a
moment's notice to save your precious kitty's life? Be prepared...buy a laundry sack
with a drawstring closure for each cat you own and keep it in a handy spot.
Here are
the sacks we have at the shelter, and we also keep a hammer handy to break the window if
necessary. We have tested our procedure (without breaking the window, of course). The cats
seemed to love going in the sacks. |

To put a cat in a sack, grab the cat by the scruff of the neck, and gently
lower him into the sack.
